Elite Upset!

Did Ninja really just lose, after running the table in the Fall Season with the perfect 10-0 season?!  YES!  At the hands of the Expansionites, who appear to be on a mission this season!  "Well, what can I say - we are running without our season MVP.  We tried, but ever since he got the award, we ain't good enough for him!" stated Aaron "GM of the Year" Mundrake.

40+ A, B or...Elite?!

After several years in hiding, the Gotem Pirates (previously HAVOC) returned to the best damn league in the area to mix it up once again!  So what do they do?  They enter 40+ B, then proceed to trounce their first opponent by 41 points!  Needless to say, the Commissioner is looking into moving them up.  "Yo, we wanna win, but who knew we were that good!  Maybe we should move right to Elite!" explained coach and awesome point guard Stan "The Man" Ford.

As predicted, Ninja takes it all, but just by one 3-point difference!  With the win, they caught the Repeat Offenders with the most championships!  That will make the Winter Season extra interesting!

The younger Woodchippers overpowered the venerable Elders, who seemed to run out of gas by the end.  They just couldn't keep up with the run and gun strategy of the champs, who successfully defended their title from the Spring Season, now with a total of 7 titles to match Ninja and RepeatOffenders (all tied for 3rd in the all-time list) - do we hear Elite for the Winter Season?!

Ok, so the Commish's Office blew this prediction, as the BlueChips proved everyone wrong by running the table in the playoffs after a 2-5 regular season...go figure!  That's what can happen in Legends, you can't count any team out!  The BlueChips got hot, and that's that!  Hats off to the champs!

We made it through the semis!  See below for the Commish Office's update!

Elite Division

Sorry Expansionites and Mighty Men, it will be Ninja and Repeat Offenders making it to the final for another epic battle in their long-standing rivalry!  They’ve met three times before in the Finals, with Ninja up 2-1, but RepeatO has the edge 7-6 in overall championships.  Avoiding players getting mad, the Commish’s Office will refrain from picking the winner!  Needless to say, it’s a must-see game!

Update! Repeat Offenders disappoint!  Ok, so the Expansionites pulled off the big upset!  Yes, they played well, but let's be serious - Ninja Looms!  Without RepeatO in their way, Ninja ends the Expansionites' lofty dreams of reaching the mountain top!

A/B Division

With the star-studded roster of the Elders, we cannot see Farmers taking them down, or even the vaunted Woodchippers, whom we think they will meet in the Finals!  PROCON has had an amazing season, and they are the dark horse!

Update! We nailed this Finals match-up!  Now it's time to see the Elders shut down the Woodchippers with their incredible team play!

B/C Division

Seeds 1 and 2 (Uncle Hoopsters and Killers) will meet in the Finals, dispatching Cordia Heat and Grindfathers (who pulled off a great upset in the QFs!)  Mr. Legend and Hall of Famer Dick Beville has put together a winning squad, but it won’t be easy against the Uncles!  It all depends who shows up for the game, but we have to lean to the Hoopsters to pull out the win!

Update! Nailed another Finals match-up!  To complete the prediction, we stand by our original - Uncle's win!

40+ A Division

This is a very even division with any team able to make the big run!  We think the Woodchippers-2 will defeat the Clydesdales in the Final!

Update - Right again! But this one will be a nail biter!  Again, we stand by the younger legs of the Woodchippers-2!

40+ B Division

This division is almost unpredictable!  But we have to go with the #1 seed in the Barnsters to defeat TGX in the finals!

Update - Hey, what can we say....can't be right all the time!  We did say i was almost unpredictable!  And what the heck went on with the Barnsters!  Bad time to lay an egg!  However, we must swap to TGX for the win!  So the Blue Chips got lucky catching an ice-cold Barnsters.  Did you see TGX crush the HoundDogs?!  TGX wins!

40+ C Division

Bucket List, Bucket List, Bucket List!  It’s their season!  They are 0-3 in the Finals (not including a watered down Summer Season win!) but upped their game with some key off-season pickups!  They should down either the FCC Clipboards or Dealers in the Finals!

Update!  A caveat here...as long as the Bucket List's Twin Towers show, this game is theirs!  If one doesn't show, they could be looking at an 0-4 Finals record!

Weeknight League

Wow, it’s the Finals on Tuesday!  Volume Integration pulled off a huge upset of #1 seed X-Factor in the semis, but we think the run-and-gun HD Chasers will be too much for them in the Finals!

Update!  We are switching to Volume Integration winning it all!  Oops, they already did win - CONGRATS and see you in DisneyWorld!

Fall 2017 Mid-Season Report!

Summary

We're at the half way point, so time to take a look at standings and the scoring race!

The only team left undefeated is Ninja at the top of the Elite Division with a 6-0 record!  Can anyone spoil their drive for the perfect season?!

• In 30+ A/B, PROCON and Elders are locked in first at 4-1.
• In 30+ B/C, Killers and Uncle Hoopsters are also tied at 4-1.
• In 40+ A, Woodchippers-2 and DMV Clydesdales also each at 4-1! See pics from their epic battle below!
• In 40+ B, it's the Barnsters alone at the top for now, also 4-1.
• And last but not least, 40+ C - You guessed it, two teams tied at 4-1!  Dealers and Bucket List.
• In Tuesday B/C, X Factor is alone at 5-1, with HD Chasers, chasing them down at 4-1!

Elite A Division

The RepeatOffenders lived up to their name, returning to the top of the Elite division while locking up the Outlawz. Marcus Passmore, however, did not (pass more!), as he put up 21 critical points! League MVP Art "Big Man" Crowder offered more than his immense court presence, following up with 14 points. 
RepeatOffenders also broke the total championships logjam with Ninja, as they both were tied at 6 Legends championships going into this season - fitting they defeated Ninja on their way to their 7th title!

Elite B Division

Colonial's Revenge exacted their vengeance on Team Glow, coming back from a huge point deficit in the last few minutes of the game to successfully defend their title! Down by as many as 15 points, the Colonial's MVP Scott Bauer put away 20 to help pull his team up and over Glow, securing their second championship in a row.  Team Glow members can get a discount for off-season therapy sessions after losing such a commanding lead in the waning minutes of the game - sorry guys, come back and make things right in the fall!

30+ A Division

The Woodchippers shredded the Dukes, ending their miracle run in the playoffs. Coming off an 0-7 season, the Dukes defeated the number one seed in the quarters and fought all the way to the finals, where it seems the magic ran out against the Woodchippers, and their MVP Terrell Barnes' incredible defense. Jon Mukri scored the highest, with 14 points to secure his team's victory.

30+ B/C Division

HAVOC wreaked themselves upon Vorsprung as they blew past them to take the championship in dominating fashion! Jason Burston and Didier Ngay's combined 18 points helped HAVOC put their victory away. MVP Miguel Marti's voracity contributed heavily to his team's win!  A great team effort, as no member scored more than 9 points!

Resistance was futile for Z2 as Borg added the title of 40+ A champs to their cabinet! Chris Quinn's 20 points served to end Z2's chances and put his team on top, while MVP Kevin Nearpass completely shut down Z2's offense!

The Barnsters were forced to fold as Ante Up took the win in this nail-biter that came down to the last seconds. MVP Robert Taylor's 11 points nailed the Barnsters coffin shut as he and his team fought to the very end and secured themselves the slimmest margin of victory.

TEAM Glauser (no imagination in that team name!) had a triumphant end to the Spring season as they quite handily crossed off Bucket List with a 20+ point margin. Larry Baccari scored the most for his team with 14 points, backed up by MVP Ryan David with 11.

Tuesday B/C Division

Tuesday turned into Blues-day for X-Factor as the HD Chasers took the win in this hard fought battle! X-Factor was 9-0, looking for a championship ring to seal the perfect season - but alas, such as it goes for some hugely talented sports teams.  Just ask the 2007 New England Patriots!  Lance Posey's 15 points were key to securing the close game for his team, while MVP Will Turner's massive court presence and timely foul shooting helped push his team over the top!
